Managers needed to be able to quickly and easily retrieve information about jobs their company was performing. Operators needed to be able to quickly and easily log Jobs as they came in and then allocate resources appropriately. |

The existing process of manually writing down Job information was time consuming, lead to transcription errors, pieces of paper may be lost meaning Jobs may not be invoiced or even completed on time. Managers were unable to create management information other than a few simple hand-worked reports which took a weekend to accomplish. |

However much of the existing manual system was very efficient and easy to operate. |

Andy Cornaby, Managing Director of Response Maintenance, asked Custom Built Software to help with a computer solution that was tailored to their special needs. He particularly wanted to retain the good elements of the manual process which worked well. |

Using state-of-the-art methods within a DSDM RAD framework and the close involvement of the business Custom Built Software built the Response Database within a twelve week period. |
